⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)
I saw “Go, Dog. Go! • Ve Perro ¡Ve!” at Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, and it was sooooo funny. I couldn’t stop laughing the whole time.
The show was adapted for the stage by Allison Gregory and Steven Dietz and is directed by Juliette Carrillo. It’s also bilingual, which means they speak English and Spanish. That made it extra cool because everyone in the audience could understand and join in the fun.
My favorite part was when the dogs were driving cars. I mean, dogs driving cars? That is hilarious.
They also played baseball on stage, and at one point, some of the dogs came into the audience.
That was awesome. It felt like the show wasn’t just on stage. It was all around us.
And then they threw balloons into the audience. I tried to hit one with my hand, but it never got close enough. Still, it was super fun just trying.
All the dogs were funny and full of energy. Green Dog (played by Julia Diaz) was my favorite, and I loved how all the characters were silly but also kind of cool.
The music made the show even more exciting, and the bright colors on stage made it feel like you were in a doggy adventure land.
I think the best thing about this show is that it’s fun for kids but also makes you feel like you’re part of the story. You laugh a lot, you get surprised, and sometimes you feel like the dogs are right there with you.
This was one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, and I’m giving it five stars. If you like dogs, games, balloons, and laughing until your cheeks hurt, you have to go see this show.
